Access for all is not fully provided if training, compliance or support are missing. While there are many ways to support an individual to achieve full access, our support expertise lies in the implementation of Assistive Technology and providing Workplace Personal Assistants.
Assistive Technology Implementation
Assistive Technology is any device or software used to enhance the abilities of a person with disabilities. At TCSAccess, we focus on the intersection of Assistive Technology and Information Technology. Most frequently, the Assistive Technology at this intersection is Assistive Technology to support individuals who are blind or visually impaired but that is not to say Assistive Technology cannot be used to support individuals with other disablitities.
At TCSAccess, our collaborative Assistive Technology implementation process begins with an Assistive Technology needs assessment to identify the best Assistive Technology to meet individual and organizational needs. Once the appropriate Assistive Technology is identified, we assist in the procurement of the Assistive Technology, then in partnership with the organization’s IT professionals, we will assist with the Assistive Technology installation and implementation. Additionally, we offer continued support through Assistive Technology consultation for Assistive Technology maintenance as well as Assistive Technology help-desk support.
STEP 1: ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY NEEDS ASSESSMENT
The needs assessment will evaluate both individual and organizational needs for equal access to perform essential job functions. At the conclusion of the assessment, a report will provide assistive technology product recommendations to best meet all needs.
STEP 2: ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY PROCUREMENT
TCSAccess will assist with the procurement of the specific assistive technology products to ensure equal access to the employee needed to perform essential job functions.
STEP 3: ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY INSTALLATION AND IMPLEMENTATION
TCSAccess expert Assistive Technology Specialist will partner with the IT Specialist on the installation of the Assistive Technology to ensure a smooth implementation process.
STEP 4: ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY CONSULTATION
Following the Assistive Technology implementation, your organization may need to consult with an expert Assistive Technology Specialist, especially for Assistive Technology help-desk support or assistive technology product maintenance.
