Assistive Technology Specialist

TCSA  is looking for an enthusiastic Assistive Technology Specialist (ATS) to join our fast growing team. The ATS will be responsible for providing direct AT support services for several of TCSA’s clients located in the Washington DC metro area with availability to travel to client sites nationally.

The successful candidate must have strong training skills, IT skills and knowledge of AT software and hardware and its application with persons of varying disabilities and needs. They must have a deep understanding of the Microsoft Office suite of applications and possess a desire to keep pace with changes within the fields of assistive technology and universal design. Self-starters with an ability to learn new technologies quickly, teach others and the flexibility to adjust to client requirements are well suited for this challenging position. Additionally, the candidate must have strong verbal and written communication skills and an ability to work independently and in a team environment.  Persons from related fields who are methodical, person-centered and technical are encouraged to apply.

 

Role Description:

The primary role of the ATS is to provide training, support, installation and configuration services for customers who are using AT in a variety of environments. Work will be performed both independently and as a member of the AT Services team.

 

Job Duties:

  • Train persons with disabilities to use AT hardware and software in one on one and group settings both in person and remotely
  • Install, configure, troubleshoot and train on a variety of AT products including screen reading, screen magnification and speech recognition technologies
  • Assess/troubleshoot a client’s equipment in person and remotely and either fix any issues they are experiencing on the spot or make timely and effective recommendations to remediate the issue/s
  • Assess client’s current skill level regarding their AT and computer acumen and adapt training lessons and materials accordingly
  • Create training outlines and accessible reference materials for clients
  • Train persons to use their AT on a variety of platforms to include; PC, Android, and Apple

Minimum Experience & Knowledge Required:

  • Demonstrated professional experience training persons of all technical skill levels who are blind, visually impaired and mobility impaired
  • Advanced knowledge of JAWS screen reading, and Dragon speech recognition software is required
  • Ability to develop training outlines and accessible reference materials for clients
  • The ideal candidate will have experience training, installing, configuring and troubleshooting in a variety of computing environments
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Certification in Dragon Professional, JAWS and ZoomText a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in computer science or engineering, information technology, information systems or education may be well suited for this position
  • S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain a Federal security clearance within 60 days of employment

Inside Sales Representative

TCSA  is looking for a motivated and organized Inside Sales Representative to join our fast growing team. The Inside Sales Rep will be responsible for driving opportunities and revenue by soliciting and obtaining orders, understanding and interpreting technical requirements of our partners, providing technical information to potential partners and customers and developing accounts.

You must have well developed sales skills, IT background, a knowledge of AT software and hardware and its application with persons of varying disabilities and needs is a plus.

You will be calling on prospects and clients throughout the country. From generating a pipeline of new prospects to maintaining successful customer relationships, you will be expected to manage the entire process. By leveraging your knowledge of the prospects and clients’  needs, you need to effectively recommend the product(s) or service(s) best suited to the client’s needs.

Job Duties:

  • Assesses competitors by analyzing and summarizing competitor information and trends; identifying sales opportunities.
  • Develops sales opportunities by researching and identifying potential accounts; soliciting new accounts; building rapport; providing technical information and explanations; preparing quotations.
  • Closes new accounts by answering telephone, fax, and e-mail inquiries; verifying and entering information.
  • Fills orders by transferring orders to fulfillment; communicating expected delivery date; explaining stock-outs.
  • Develops accounts by checking customer’s buying history; suggesting related and new items; explaining technical features.
  • Maintains communication equipment by troubleshooting, reporting, and tracking problems.
  • Maintains and improves quality results by following standards; recommending improved policies and procedures.
  • Updates job knowledge by studying new product descriptions; participating in educational opportunities.
  • Accomplishes department and organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Minimum Experience & Knowledge Required:

  • Demonstrated a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in sales
  • Ability to meet sales goals
  • The ideal candidate will have experience selling technical products and services.

Workplace Personal Assistant

TCSA  is looking for a motivated, organized and detail-oriented person who can provide customer support/relations in the role of a Workplace Personal Assistant (WPA).  WPA services are provided to individuals with disabilities to ensure they can perform the essential duties of their job.

Job Duties:

  • The WPA shall assist staff with disabilities in performing duties such as:
  • Acting as a human guide or escort
  • Assistance with removing and putting on clothing and eating
  • Reading for blind or low vision employees
  • Note taking
  • Off-site travel assistance to job related conferences, meetings, trainings, and occasional overnight travel
  • Task-related assistance such as lifting and moving work-related items (<40 lbs.) and general office tasks- faxing, scanning, computer applications (e.g. Microsoft Office Suites), making phone calls and filing.
  • The WPA does not interpret information or perform essential job functions for the client.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in an office or business environment in which they had to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and efficient Internet search techniques
  • Proactive customer service focused
  • Comprehensive English vocabulary and reading level above 60 words/minute
  • Comfortable working near service animals

Minimum Education, Experience, & Specialized Knowledge Required:

  • High School Education with preference given to persons with a college degree
  • U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain a clearance
